DIY: Stained Coffee Table

Step 1

Start by sanding the coffee table down getting rid of that top coat shine.
I used 100 grit sand paper and an electric sander, but any sand paper from 100-220 will do. I also used a small sanding block in the hard to reach places.

Step 2

Once you have finished sanding the shine from the coffee table, grab a piece of tack cloth, or a damp towel and wipe off all excess dust. Make sure to get corner well, if all the dust isn't removed the stain will go on lumpy!

Step 3
Apply the stain with a 3 inch paint brush. Use long even strokes when painting while making your way across the entire coffee table. Be sure to get any paint brush bristles that may shed in the process and make sure to get the insides of the legs too!

Step 4
After your first coat is complete, wait one to two hours before applying our second coat of stain. I always do at least two coats of stain when refinishing furniture.

Step 5
Go over the finished project with polyurethane spray to seal everything in and Enjoy!

Have You Been Feeling Like This Lately?

I thought we needed to take a break from stressing and have a good laugh!
I know there are definitely times when I feel like "Pregzilla", don't worry it happens to everyone woman during pregnancy! The emotions, mixed with hormones is a perfect way to create a moody mom. Oh, and we can't forget those annoying people with rude comments that spurge from their mouths, no wonder we're on edge.

Here's a few tips that will hopefully help your angry mood swings and "Pregzilla" moments.
  • Take a moment and breathe
Not only with this calm you down, but your also working on your breathing for labor.
  • Rant on a Pregnancy app or website
What's better than ranting? Receiving comments from pregnant women who totally agree with you! Download any pregnancy app (there's tons out there),  or go the any pregnancy website  with forums and rant on. You'd be surprised how many ladies feel the same, trust me we're not alone!
  • Do something that makes YOU happy
I am always wanting to make others happy and I tend to forget about myself. Try taking sometime out of your day to relax and truly do something for yourself. Once the baby arrives A LOT of attention will be on your new bundle of joy and everything that the mama has gone through and done falls back in the shadows. So enjoy yourself mama, you deserve it!
  • Take a walk
Walking is good because it takes you away from the situation, leaving less of a chance for an argument or breakdown. Walking also benefits you because it exercise, which is always good for an expectant mother.
  • Get a massage
You can NEVER go wrong with a massage.
Option one: Ask your significant other if he would help take some stress away by rubbing your back or shoulders, that way you two are spending quality time together and helping the relieve aches at the same time.
Option two: Schedule a time with a professional Some cities even have places that give pregnancy massages for us moms with big bumps and sore backs in our late second and third trimester. Don't be afraid to pamper yourself, after all you are creating a baby in your belly full time!
These are just a few things that help me when I am feeling angry, Hope it help you too!
